27 Feb 09. So fast! It has been a year since I ROMed. I think celebrating the first two years of wedding anniversary in the States is very special to us. This year due to budget constraints, we only gave each other cards. But it's the tots that count, and I think spending money on other stuff like on photo shoot or trips might be more useful...for now:P I can still remember how anxious I felt before I marched in for my solemnization, with Pinkies and close family members with me. It was such a jovial affair and yet it only seemed like yesterday. I can also recall how I got myself bz with the makeup, hairdo and the pink dress, while Cha made sure everything went well during the ceremony. I still remember the buffet lunch! Very nice, hope we can return there for a buffet again if got chance.
We celebrated our first anniversary at the Melting Pot, located at North Virginia, Reston. It was a very ulu place and was seated at the industrial area, I even tot Cha got the wrong place leh!! Lucky we reached there just in time for the "false alarm" episode to end. Just earlier on, the fire alarm went off and all the diners had to evacuate the restaurant and stand in the shivering cold. Haha, lucky we missed all that!! The Melting Pot was a nice surprise. I had tot it was just some typical western restaurant where we will have steak and candle light stuff, but I was all wrong... It was a western steamboat style dinner! We ordered the set dinner and started with a pot of melted cheddar cheese with rolls, followed by their house salad. Maincourse consisted of mainly raw and marinated seafood, pork and chicken. Lobster was the grand highlight, it was HUGE and very very delicious! We had to use the skewers and cooked them in the pot with vegetable broth. Everything was so nice, with so many gravy and sauces available and is quite similar to the steamboat we had in Spore which I craved so much, except it's the angmor version lar.. But one thing was very bizzare, they never gave us any soup spoon lor! Apparently the ang mors here don't drink soup base from steamboats. Cha was so gian to drink the soup that he cleaned the sauce spoon and scooped one mouthful, of cuz cannot let anyone else see lar..hehe..

Lastly...it's my beloved chocolate fondue, wah seh! Delicious! The dippers consisted of strawberries, banana, pounder cakes, marshmellow and cheesecake!! Woohoo~~ So long never had fondue liao..This dinner was really satisfying, but it totally crushed my week-long salad-only diet.. but then again, it's worth it lor!!
Slurpz...We love the Melting Pot, will be back for its steamboat meals again, it's superb!

Vday was a simple affair as we do not have a habit of making it a very grand affair. Partly becuz our 1st wedding anniversary is drawing very near..hehe..so can save a bit if we combine the two occasions together to celebrate lar... But Chaa again gave me a surprise when he came home with a bouquet of flowers when I thought he went to the gym... Thanks again le wor...and again, I din get anything for him as using any money will be like using his own money -_-
Got my gown today, really like it a lot, very princess like, its has always been what I wanted for my wedding gown..hehe, I'm owning my gown! gosh...I tot that if we did that in Singapore it will be very expensive, but becuz we had a few wedding fair discounts, we managed to get the gown at 399! hee, very satisfied with it, not only can use it for photo shoot here, but can also bring it back to spore for the banquet, YAAY!! meanwhile hav to lose some weight, cuz my bustline is a little bit too tight~Next will have to look out for other accessories such as veil, jewellery and slip liao...
And hor the highlight of the week is that we finally got a TV!! YAAY!! Cha's classmate lend us for two years since he has an extra one, thank goodness, now at least we not so mountain tortuise and are able to know wat's happening ard us liao=D

Went for my very first gown fitting yesterday!!! Woo hoo! But never really see anything that I like lar, so try for fun, anyway it's free one mah =D ~Tried 6-7 gowns altogether, with the much needed assistance from a sales girl. I realise one cannot fit into the gown without help leh, I will surely trip over the hem of the skirt one. Also need a special type of bra for the wedding gown, David's bridal very professional, let me try on the bra, shoes, gown and veil all at same time..haha...But hor, selection is quite limited and the pics on their catalogue looks a bit different when I tried on it, maybe I need to lose some weight bah..have been gaining weight since I'm in US as we eat fast food quite often lor...They also dun have some of the gowns in my size so cannot try on those which I really like. My size is a size 4 lor! hear liao also shiok, macham children size lidat, they have size 2 all the way to size 26, wahahha, suddenly I feel very slim over here...
Actually we planning to do our photo shoots in the States le, but still working on our budget, cuz the make up artist, hair styler, gowns and photographer (in particular) are very very costly. But then, since we are here, might as well use the sceneries here, since air tix is already paid for. Well, this is just a thought, cuz we have not firmed up on anything yet. KIV bah~
After going to several bridal studios, we went to Cha's classmate house for his bday party. Hee, like wad cha said, we long time never go to bday party liao, esp for his age one, and hor this fren already in his mid-thirties liao..pengz.. it was rather enjoyable, a huge crowd turned out and there were lots of finger food. Think I drank too much last nite, got a pounding headache when I got home. Love his home, so damn classy, he macham like CEO of company to live in such a posh condo, haiz, his embassy really took good care of him, not like ours~
See how I strategically sit in front of the food, heheh

The wife made this cake for Jason one, cute hor~

Occa is going to be Cha's gay fren liao~

Look at how HAPPY cha is when Occa is with him~ HUMPH!

Dun like this gown, too simple liao (which most ang mors like)

Tummy coming out liao lar~

Cha said I look like a cake, HUMPH~
Cha dun like the embroidery (So many comments from him, choosy PORK!)
* Actually still got one more gown, ballerina style, those very puffy and princess like style, but Cha said it was so overwhelming he went into shock and forgot to take a pic, hear liao also sian lor~

Quite a few updates for the past two weeks. Last Fri, Cha and I made a trip to Singapore Embassy for the CNY celebration. It was supposed to be a get-together for Singaporeans in the Washington DC area but of cuz, the main thing that MOST appealed to us was the food lar..hehe..It was a buffet style dinner with very delicious Hainanese Chicken Rice..Long time never eat liao, tat's why very happy to see the local delicacy there. The rest of the food were those standard buffet food catering in Spore with free flow drinks and alcohol . As attire was required to be business wear for the event, we really got dressed up lor..Cha was in his ROM suit while I wore my dress, with a stocking. I still remember that night was chilling, up to -7 degree, and my pitiful legs, barely covered with black stockings, nearly froze liao... The event was really boring, as we did not know anyone there, but managed to catch a glimpse of the Singapore ambassador. Din have a chance to speak to her thou, as crowds were constantly forming around her...
On Sat, we went to Annapolis, the capital of Maryland for a dinner by the "sea". Although I cannot really see the sea view lar...but the restaurant was really quite nice and quiet, very cottage-like and food prices were within reasonable range. Cha and I each ordered their meal set where each set consists of soup, main course and a dessert, which costs barely $15. Quite okay right! Actually the dinner was to celebrate our 40th month anniversary lar, but as the weather was really cold that night, we went home straight after dinner. Annapoli was a rather nice town lots of boats and yachtes anchoring at the bay, but we decided to go there another time when it is warmer, probably in spring...
